Our range of Badgeware boards are proving to be versatile. YouTube subscriber milestones, thermal camera, and live public transport data, are just some of the projects built around these potent boards.

Carlo Puglisi has added three Badgeware projects to our Badgeware Contributions repository. This is our home for inspirational apps, created by the community.

If you need a little motivation to build your first Badgeware app, take a look in there and see what has been created.

Carlo's app contributions start with:

Presentator

Carlo's Presentator tool

Presentator is "a wireless presentation remote and pocket "macro keyboard" for a PC." that connects to an ESP32-S3 dongle which receives commands over BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and behaves as a USB keyboard.

Presentator has two modes.

  • Presentation mode: Slide control, slide counter and timer.
  • Commands mode: Runs commands, open apps, shortcuts using a JSON file for config.

But, that isn't the only app from Carlo, here are two more that also deserve your attention.

Multi Badge

Carlo's Multi-Badge app

Designed for Tufty 2350, Multi Badge is a "name badge with any number of profiles (work, school, makerspace...), each with its own name, role, logo, fonts and colours. Press B to flip it and show phone, email and a vCard QR code that people can scan to save your contact."

All you need to do is make a custom badge.json file with your details, and Multi Badge does the rest. Very handy for conferences, school and club memberships.

WiFi Config

Carlo's WiFi Config tool

With WiFi Config we can "manage WiFi networks on the badge itself, without editing secrets.py on a computer every time you change place."

Using the app, we can scan for networks, check signal strength and connect to our preferred network, without the need to edit secrets.py. A handy tool when using Badgeware in the field.

All of these projects are collected in in Carlo's GitHub repository. Note that WiFi Config and Presentator are in Italian, but can be easily translated to other languages.
