Keep the small humans busy

For some, the summer holidays have already started, and others have a few days to go. In the spirit of keeping the small humans occupied, we're putting together some ideas for activities you can do with them.

We'll update this blog post as we add activities. You can view them online, or download the pdf which is printable on A4 paper.

Project 1: The YellowPhant!

Make a little elephant out of your recycling, and light it up using whichever of our lovely lights you have to hand. This one is pink, but he also goes yellow every 20 minutes.

Combine a related project for an interactive elephant or a night light to glow you gently to sleep.

You could light it using one of our colour change LEDs and a button cell, or a Blinkt on a Raspberry Pi Zero, or a unicorn phat for even more glowability!

If you don't have the unicorn phat like we used - the mood light kit contains everything you need to get started (except for the elephant).

Some other activities we've put up previously that you could combine with your elephant:

Project 2 - don't wake the lion!

We used a micro:bit and our noise:bit to make a game where you have to pass the lion without waking it up. Have you ever heard a micro:bit roar?

You'll need some craft felt if you want to make the lion pouch, or you could make a lion face by drawing one on a bit of card and cutting it out, then taping your micro:bit and battery pack to the back.
